But after the first polymorphic virus appeared in 1990, the development of zero-day attacks in the early 2000s and the rise of organized hacker groups like Anonymous led to the rise of the cybersecurity industry.
In 2020, 10 percent of CEOs said cybersecurity would be the biggest threat to their organization over the next three years. By 2021, that number had almost doubled.
Why are industry leaders so worried?
